Taiwan Creative Content Festival (TCCF) was held by Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) for the first time on the 17th-22nd of November, 2020, with 3 sessions going on for different target audiences. The 3 sessions included Taiwan HYPE Exhibition, Future Content Experience Zone, and Story Exchange, being exhibited all over Xinyi District in Taipei City, bringing the city visions and imagination about the future of the creative content industry.
TCCF was held to showcase the possibilities and the future of the creative content industry. Taiwan HYPE, exhibiting product models from the top-end technology and multi-media arts companies, was open to general public in VIESHOW Square from Monday to Saturday. Future Content Experience Zone, exhibiting the various combination of cutting-edge technologies, entertainment ideas, and arts, was open for pre-registered individuals to visit at A11 Legacy Max. As to Story Exchange, the activity was held for the creative content industry professionals and the investors to meet each other in Le Méridien Taipei.
Personally I visited Taiwan HYPE and Future Content Experience Zone in the Thursday afternoon, and I would like to share my experience and thoughts about the exhibitions and my expectation to the creative content industry’s future.
[ Taiwan HYPE ]
In VIESHOW Square, Taiwan HYPE presented various possibilities in combining technology and arts. The visitors would find themselves interacting with the products and the art works in the outdoor environment. The most outstanding feature in this exhibition was that it showed off its creativity with colourful and strong visual design and the collision of technologies and Taiwan’s traditional elements to draw the audience’s attention. Placing itself openly in one of the most lively districts in Taipei, it challenged the passengers’ curiosity and rewarded them with ideas that is usually out of the normality in one’s daily life.
Future Content Experience Zone ]
On the 6th floor on the other side of the road lied the Future Content Experience Zone, in which the visitors are welcomed to explore the various ways, with or without some cutting-edge technologies, of experiencing creative works.
I experienced 6 among the total 15 exhibitions with online pre-registrstion, and I would introduce you 4 that impressed me the most.

Yating AI Music Jamming
To begin with, the first exhibition I visited in the zone is Yating AI Music Jamming. The idea in this work is simple: The visitors sit down and played randomly on a keyboard which was connected to the computer equipped with the music AI programme, and soon after that, the programme produced a piece of arranged music based on what the visitors played. Based on this idea, the creation of music pieces will be far easier than it is today, making song writing much more accessible for amateurs. With the help of the programmes, it is foreseeable that musicians will face more challenges and competitions as well as assists, whereas other content creators will have more options in picking and producing the music pieces they need in their works.
- XRSPACE MANOVA Creative Content Expo
The second exhibition to introduce you is XRSPACE MANOVA Creative Content Expo. This exhibition brought the visitors imagination to the future of meeting, exhibition-going, and even cinema-going with an exhibition venue designed to be experienced with VR technology. With the VR headset, the visitors were invited to a virtual lobby in the beginning, which was connected to several exhibition rooms, so that the visitors could basically see around in their free will with gestures that gave certain commands. The host of the exhibition could invited visitors to enter different room to gather everyone in the same session, and the visitors were able to interact with each other with gestures or even enter a private conversation. Even though the detecting function used to receive and recognise the orders from the users was still not as sensitive as most gaming equipment we have at the moment, I believe it is only a matter of time to see the improvement.
Through this exhibition, we could see the future of exhibition, meeting, cinema, and many other activities in the post-pandemic era, with the aid of VR technology, overcoming the obstacles that still exist in the widely adopted 2D online experience.
Future Vision Lab & Through the Body
In the last exhibition experience shared in this article, two exhibitions I visited presented one concept I am highly interested in and look forward to its development. The key feature I saw in both exhibition was the possibilities in the interactions between the visual effects and the space design in the venue they were presented.
In Future Vision Lab, the audience watched the whole exhibition in a dome-shaped white tent with the floor paved with mirrors. With the space design, all the projections could be reflected from the tent to the mirrors or vise versa, creating an illusion of floating in the middle of a bubble’s interior for the audience.

As to Through the Body, the artist designed the projection of images based on the structure of the three white walls, the ceiling, and the floor, that were going to be both the canvas for the creator and the screen for the audience. Being surrounded from five directions, the audience was invited to sit closer to the greatest wall, which connects the 2 others, to immerse more into the story’s environment and movements.

The major concept these two exhibitions proposed was that there are much more possibilities in being creative in playing with the interaction between space and visual effects. The content presented to the audience in the future is likely to be designed along with the venue the artists hope the work to be brought to the audience, instead of being limited by the medium’s standards. Moreover, with the evolution of exhibiting and performing technologies, it is not difficult to imagine more stimulation to other senses can be involved in the near future.
{ 總結 Bottom Line }
TCCF was for sure eye-opening for the general public for the rich creative energy it showed and proved. It was an exhibition that not only presented the outcome of the creative industry has got so far but also pushed the audience to picture an upcoming drastic evolution in the field. Fasten your seat belt, because we are accelerating into a new blooming era of creative industry, and your cognition and senses could get overturned.
